Gph flow in a 75 gallon sumpless tank

I have a 2100 gph wavemaker in my 75 gallon tank. I have to aim it at the rocks to disperse some of the power otherwise it blows the sand. The fish seem to be ok but they tend to stay on the opposite side of the tank from the gph. I have 2 gsp, 1 bra, and a zoa. All doing good. I think I should go lower so the fish will be out more but I am not sure I want good flow. Any suggestions??

Yes. You want to make sure every area of the tank has some flow.

I have mine placed about a third of the way from the top pointing slightly upward to get surface agitation

Dead spots in the tank will accumulate detritus. Best to keep things moving around
