I'm currently setting up a 125 gallon reef tank with 125 gallon sump and was wondering what I should be shooting for for return pump. I don't need it for flow I have plenty of gyres to put in for flow. Any input appreciated

4 times the volume of your tank per hour is a good number. Don’t need the 10x mentioned by some.

Wow! That's a big sump. So many things you could do with a sump that size. I agree with @JGT. 4 or 5 turnover per hour is usually good if you have good flow in the tank. You could raise it a bit to increase flow through the sump if you want to. Sure would like to see that sump. I'm kinda jealous.

Still in progress only put it half way under the stand so I can get to the roller mat and will cover the exposed section of the sump
