Looking to replace the 2 OEM return pumps which produce 300 gph each with a single DC pump that produces 2377 gph to run all 4 return heads. Is that overkill? Should I run a DC pump that produces half as much GPH?

Tank size and plans for what you are keeping such as fish, corals, or anemones?

60 gallon AIO.
Corals and Inverts, LPS to start with some SPS to follow. Not sure about anemones yet but not out of the question.
Plans for some fish but not sure yet how many yet.
Standard CUC with a possible sand-sifting goby.

As for the turnover rate of the system in concerns to the return pump, I belive 5-10x your total system volume should suffice. Looks like you are in the ballpark of SPS already, according to standards. I like DC because you can ramp up or down to your needs.

As for the display tank, I think most aim for 20-50X their total system volume. LPS towards the lower end, with SPS on the higher end. These are just standards though, and everyone has their preference.

I was thinking the same, if the GPH was too strong at least a DC pump I could adjust.
