Hey guys I'm about to setup a 80g. I have a return pump that pumps 1500 gph. I wonder if its enough. For an 80g what should be a good return flow? Thanks.

Depends who you ask and what "method" you are running. The general consensus is about 6x turnover. If you run the triton method they recommend 10x turnover

What dictates your pump rate is your overflow. How much can your overflow handle? I have a 90 gallon tank with a 1500 Glass-Holes overflow, and originally ran a MAG 9.5 (950 gph). Currently run a Waveline at an unknow flow rate....about the same as the MAG by looking at the waterline in the DT.

It's definitely enough turnover through the sump. Too much, in my opinion. But, as long as your overflow/drain system can handle it, it will be fine.

After total head loss, the flow will be much less, by the way. You can calculate head loss by using online calculators.
