So not grafted like the 5 fruit tree but how about grow together.
I know in the start with sps placement is a huge thing and dont lie :) we all did it in the beginning. To many To close Cant stop. Or just not knowing.

So what worked out for you? Let's get some pics and descriptions. Not all sps fight eachother and some for some time live peacefully touching. So lets get some up on here to help folks when placing to make.something cooler. I know when I searched.this nothing could be found to help except - space - well space doesnt last so whats the real nitty gritty when it comes to trying to mix two or so corals in the same spot.

Lets get some examples of what worked out for folks. Some pics of how they are reacting with touching. I am confined with space on my racks lately due to previous problems so have dealt with touching a lot lately. And thats what sparked this.

I have a friend with a diabolic pacman and oregon tort that have learned to grow amongst eachother making a sweet contact spot. In some cases in the long run 1 will take over but will still be growing together in the contact.spot as it.spreads. But in other cases will continue to strive to survive and swirl amongst the other like most monti's do when they grow into eachother. (Imagine we will see a lot of that as platers seem to grow together well and make awesome mixtures - just dont throw an encruster into the mix cause itll take um out)

See if we cant get @Apisto over to share a wicked sweet starter pic for this thread.
I have my strawberry shortcake and pink lemonaid practically growing on top of eachother on the rack right now and they look exquisite and seem to like eachother even at the contact spot(will look thru for a pic or get 1 up tomorrow)they have done so well together that in the new tank they will be placed that way to see how they mix at.The base.

What are some others that you all have found that dont totally destroy the other and can find ways to grow together.

I guess that would be me. I have a small tank, stocked it heavily with more difficult corals thinking I would not be as successful as I have been with many of them and now have numerous example of conflict between sps. I must say, though, that conflict not quite accurate, as most have not caused injury or death.

Here is the example that Drew mentions above. This is the beginning of the contact. Note the purple base portion of the Diabolic Pacman riding up on the branch of the Oregon Tort.

And here is the full contact where neither coral colony seemed to be stressed.

The lower right coral(Diabolic) seems to be dominant, but appears to be melding with the upper left Oregon Tort. If not a graft, it does seem to be some kind of a combination that time will tell what result is born of it...I have cut several frags from this contact/combination/whatever. The blue OT branch in the middle of the Diabolic base(with red polyps) remained alive and growing(albeit slowly) on the frag of that portion for a month while retaining its color. Now it has succumb to the Diabolic, but those frags do look different than the Diabolic mother.

I will try and get a pic of one of the frags next time I get the camera out..

Great documentation/images. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome thanks Neil. That will be a classic always.

Sorry for the delay - tho not as cool or as good of a pic lol as the DP and OT. Here is 2 I have found that can touch and have yet to kill eachother. They have overlapped one another for a few months now and only gotten better looking. They are completely touching at the contact spot with no issues.

That is the pink lemonade and strawberry shortcake

What are some others peeps have going in their tanks

Bump! Love to see more!
I have a few Birdsnest that have grown into each other. Not at the base but 2 branches actually turned into one. Hoping they'll keep growing like this.
Ora orange skin green polyp BN and a birds of paradise.

I really think that grafted acros could start being the next huge thing. It will probably be difficult in the beginning to get good matches. But some of the potential color combinations could be unreal.

At one of my lfs, they had a green efflo growing into a blue efflo, unfortunately one died before they got a frag going...

Not sure if it is showing well but this acro has the green streaks in the base that some people call grafting.
