Is this a thing? And does anyone have any grafted acans?
Please post pictures if you do.

I have seen acans called grafted. It was nothing more than a few polyps of different colors glued on same plug.

It is done with several types of corals but not many will actually graft together they just grow next to each other. In case of the later not a true graft. No idea if acans truly graft or not.

A friend of mine bought a frag of 2 scolys that were cut in half and then glued together. Each half grew into a new round individual head and now it is 2 scolys right next to each other on the same rock. I would assume acans would do the same.

That is what i think. Scolly differs from most grafting since no new polyps will come of it. If a true graft the corals will grow together and new growth and polyps will melt colors into each other. If they do not share common flesh but can visibility see a separation. It is not a true graft. Just different polyps growing next to each other, not into each other.

I asked the same question on another forum months ago. No one there had done it or heard of it being done either. Personally, I think it would be possible with bowerbankis. Lords and hillae are too small to try on.

I know about grafting scolys, which is actually why I asked the questions. They are so similar, you'd think this would be doable, or dione already.

How about you send me some acans and i'll give it a try? lol
