Has anyone done this or seen this done? I really love cyphestrea corals and think this could be really awesome to do.

I have a few different varieties. Depending on how long tank maintenance takes this Sunday, I may try it and see what happens.

If you do, you should start a thread and keep it updated!

have 2 on a rock growing and waiting for them to meet up some point will be a couple months possibly
How did it turn out? I'm thinking of doing the same thing.

How aggressive is Cyphastrea? Do different types live in harmony?

Excellent questions. I currently have a few Meteor shower frags I am experimenting with. A couple frags are starting to spread on my back glass and it would be cool to have a yellow cyphastrea graft or even fuse with it.

If nobody has an answer in the next bit, I might just try it and see...

I tried JF PPE and Meteor Shower awhile ago. The did not graft - at the center where they met, they went up a bit back to back and that was it.

Good to know. I have meteor shower and I saw a yellow cyphastrea (not sure the exact type) earlier this week. I may as well give it a try.

Any tips on attempting the graft? Just let them meet up?

I put a small piece on each side of the plug and then let grow. When they grew and met approx in the middle, they went up about 1/16" or so and stopped there back to back.
Never hurts to try! Hopefully you will have better luck!

Unfortunately, I missed out on the other cyphastrea. It was already sold. [emoji17]

If i find another type, I will give it a shot.
