I'm considering a one or more of the following as part of a sand CUC: sea cucumber, diamond goby, sand sifting starfish, and various snails. All of these prefer a grain size of < 2mm.

Special grade at 1 - 2 mm would be ok for the CUC without blowing around too much but I'd really like to crank up the flow. ESV course grade (1.4 - 3.3mm) is what I really want to stay put but I worry about the CUC. Has anyone kept these CUC with grain sizes like the ESV?

I was considering a mix, it's in my nature to overthink everything. What do you folks think?

The larger will be rough for the goby to filter through its mouth/gills. Im nit sure about the other livestock, though. A mixture looks better in my opinion, but it's not going to help the problem with the goby.
