Need a picture.

Is this a Euphyllia cristata or a Plerogyra sinuosa? Later is a "Bubble coral".

When that much of the skeleton is exposed and the mouth is that open, they are usually dieing and won't recover. Unfortunately.

You could attempt to lower it in the tank. In a shaded spot and hope some of the tissue recovers.

That coral is done. Also , there is a large aiptasia next to it on the right .

Can you tell us more about your tank?

Tank age and size
Are you using a rodi system ?

Tank was setup last Christmas and it’s a 30g. I live in New York and its known for clean water, so I just use to water we use to drink. Any problem with my parameters

RO is definitely better than tap but RODI would be best . Did you notice it receding over a period of a few days? Any dark or brown matter falling off of it ? Did it always look like this when you got it?

I fear BJD brown jelly disease as it has taken one of my hammers .

Take a look at this pic. Even though it looks like this coral is ok it is not. BJD take it away 1 week later after this pic.

Could have been brown jelly but didn’t see a spot. I fear a peppermint shrimp I have away might have eaten some.

Shrimps and crabs cannot be trusted for sure!

I lost the hammer above because an emerald crab was eating it. I removed the crab but that’s when the hammer develop BJD . Some will argue that my hammer was not healthy and that’s why it was eaten by the emerald crab. I can assure you that hammer was 100% healthy and growing before that crab munched on it.

I have 1 cleaner shrimp
1 snail
2 hermits

Used to have 5 snails before I introduced 2 small hermits . Now there’s only 1 left and looks like he is there next meal whenever they feel like it.

My shrimp constantly harasses my RBTA and other corals whenever I feed.

I’m thinking about going with only snails as CUC

Do you think it can be my pair of blood orange shrimp. I doubt it. And would it be a bad idea, I was thinking of getting a pistol shrimp for my watchman goby.

Pistol shrimps are unlikely to touch corals by eating them, but may rearrange lose frags about the tank or in their burrows
