I sold a friend a couple frags that he found gray bugs on. Here is what he told me:

Frags look great. FYI, Unfortunately you do have some of the “gray bug” type of copepod parasites on them, they are much harder to see than red bugs and harder to kill. I treat them with interceptor for 6-8 hrs at about 12x the normal dosing for red bugs. They are more flattened and gray brown with a white band across the middle.

Can anyone tell me what might suffer with this treatment? I have about 270 gal of water volume, mixed reef, fish and inverts. How much interceptor should I use and for how long? Do I shut off skimmer and carbon during treat

Can’t see video but may be isopod or amhipod

Your risks from interceptor will be crabs and shrimp which will die.

You should try getting a picture of the creature in question depending on what it is it could be harmless or your treatment could be ineffective. From your friends description it sounds like flatworms to me.

I will see if he took any pictures when he dipped the Frags.

Some worms and some other copepods with this med. Praziquantel, and milbemycin oxime is interceptor. Both for worms and trematodes, but kills some other copepods. Maybe other snails, and maybe other crabs. If decided to go this way would have to monitor parameters closely, and remove some inverts to be safe. Keep a water change ready. I agree picture maybe better to diagnose.

Here are a couple pics

Couple of photos under the scope. They are almost clear except for a transverse white band across the middle and the eyes sometime look red or very reflective
