I’m on the less skimmate side, clarity is great though at 350mv
It’s proving difficult to increase it more without ( I guess) ramping it up from short spurts during the small hours

Can you possibly rephrase your question? Just to make sure - what is at 350 mv? what are you wanting to ramp up?

Wasn’t a q. Just to add content to the forum regarding the whole more/less skim when using ozone

My Milwaukee probe is set to switch off at 400 milivolts which is the measurement for orp ( oxidisation redox potential)

So I will make 2 comments. I'm not sure anything should be based on ORP -since - it's so variable. Second, my guess is that with ozone, you will have less skim mate.

I’m not following ya
With ozone, one would expect less skim mate than without - since some organics will be broken down. ORP - unless you're carefully cleaning, etc the probe can be quite misleading - as algae growing on it, for example, can artificially make the ORP look higher. I would not trust, for example an ORP to manage ozone in a tank long-term - without careful checking. (I've tried it and used ozone)

Well the probe sits in the weir in darkness but yes once a month illl give it a clean and check with calibration fluid it’s 256mv
It’s on a timer so it won’t go over 350 the way it’s set
Thanks anyway in case I was stupid

I thought the current wisdom was that ozone broke down organic molecules and,,,here I am less clear about…makes them more skimmable. What’s missing in this bit of trivia is whether or not there is a visible change to how much foam is collected.

By the way, how long have you been using ozone?

I don’t know either but definitely less foam
It’s been running 4 weeks now
