Got my hospital tank all ready to go and all meds to do a proper QT. So question is, which fish is a great 1st fish or few fish to put in? Got a 100gal DT with 30gal sump and a ton of flow bit can dial down flow.

Cant go wrong with a pair of clownfish. They are hardy and very entertaining. I originally didnt want a pair but was convinced they are a great first fish. Clownfish have become my second favorite fish next to my leopard wrasse. They have tons of personality and watching the process of one becoming the dominant female was very interesting. A yellow clown goby is another fish full of personality but they wouldnt be to noticeable in a tank that size.

Nope, i have 4 BTAs and my clowns wont touch them. Occasionally i will see them swim against my trachyphyllia coral like they want it to host them but then they just head back to the front corner of the tank they have claimed as their home. I have seen them play in a torch coral a few time as well.

You don't need to have an anemone to have clowns, you can always add one down the road when your system is more stable but clowns do just fine without them. You'd probably end up adding an anemone down the road only to find out your clowns are more attached to an overflow or a power head lol

I have heard that almost all maroon clowns will love anemones when there is one available. So if you are looking for a clown that will almost guaranteed host an anemone in the future you may want to consider a maroon. Maroon clowns also seem to be more aggressive and clowns are already aggressive enough.

If its not needed right away ill start with some clowns and mayne another blue green chromie as I already have 1 in the tank
