This isn't to question my high po4. Just came home from vaca and had a spike - i have a few ideas on where they came from and workin them down - but also noticed the awesome PE that comes along with the high po4.
Usually run my phos from .03-.06 but this will be the 2nd large spike i have encountered this year. I also noticed the crazy pe last time but that incident was much worse. The phos was at 1.79 during the pic upon testing after my vaca.
Heres some pics

Question.

How long was most of those frags from clipping time till now.? Would love to gather some data for myself. And what lights are u running.? How long is photo period.? Bare bottom or sand bed.? Frag tank connected to DT.? OR SEPRATE SYSTEM.? If so how big and dims of tank?

Looks awesome. Please share some info on your tank specs.!

These guys are in my 20g ft that is on the same system as display. I run a dual t-5 glo fixture on there with a rapid diy led strip attached. The rack is prolly 7-8" under light so sittin in 4-500 par. Most of these are my babies from the DT that i had to remove due to the last phos spike which was out of nowhere and a good 3months or so ago. It was a rough one on my sps in the end. Its funny cause they are all loving the t5 led combo vs my halide pc combo on DT.
Also runs BB on the FT but i run SB in the DT. Lights on on the FT at 9:30 and off at 9

All of those frags look pretty limited on zoox(colors still very nice), whether it be from high light, low nutrient or the combination of both. It doesn't surprise me that you'd see increase PE with more Po4. What is your nitrate level? Your SPS look very happy at the moment so I wouldn't rush to strip po4 using gfo, that's where your problems will occur.

Ya nitrates at 0. From what i have noticed over my 2 instances with the po4 is a happy medium for the tank around 1 (run a mixed reef). I still like having it around .06 tho for a buffer zone. When i was stripping fast last time my readings were crazy - all over the place - and high between 2-3. Saw issues so went to work on it.
Even this time with the high 1 number i noticed a few sps not happy. Lost a couple while these guys looked like that. Simply ran a couple small WC's and switched out gfo - will be testing today to see how much it helped and where im at but i do wish they would look like that all the time.lol
