Thanks for the information. I am a new reefer. I have had freshwater tanks for awhile but always wanted the color of the saltwater world. I like to collect native fish but dont think I will find many that will fit in a 29 gallon and not eat firefish and pecula clowns. I currently have a red bubble tip anenome that is hiding in a crack in my rock. I have been looking at all of different coral and already have a big list. If anyone can tell me though what is the coral to not get like those that rapidly spread and those hard to frag to keep their size under control.

Welcome, glad you are here! I wouldn’t do pulsating Xenia because they ca take over even when isolated. GSP can take over also unless you isolate it to a rack island. I would start with beginner corals until you get a hang of it . Mushrooms, zoas, leather ( I have a beautiful neon green sinularia and maybe a trumpet or duncan.

Welcome! Most "beginner" coral grow quickly, but imo that is a good thing. Not only do you learn how to take care of them, but it builds up your confidence and experience. Then when you gain enough experience to try more difficult coral, you can rescape the tank, or start another one. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Welcome aboard! GSP and Xania spread fast and is a love or hate with people. I personally love them and SPS corals. Think about corals with sweepers because you need to distance them and it may present a problem in a smaller tank.
