Greedy Eel?

How often do you guys feed your Eel?

What an adorable critter! I definitely need one some day I love the conch shell as a home, my girlfriend would absolutely go nuts and beg me to set up a tank like this if she saw it haha

I would think once a day is probably good for the little guy, a few chunks of shrimp and maybe a small silverside soaked in selcon would probably do him some good

Thank you ,I got the shells from the Cayman Islands on vacation a few years ago , it's pretty cool watching him go in and out

Is that dwarf the one another r2r member was selling a month ago?
If so, you got yourself a fine specimen!
I’ve never owned an eel, but I’d imagine 2 feedings a day should suffice

No it's not i bought it at my lfs for $185 , way under retail. Twice a day ? Do they eat that much in the wild ?

I guess it depends on how active he is...
If he’s huddled in his hole all day, I’d imagine one feeding would be okay.
I really don’t know, I enjoy my wrasses and they get fed 2-3 times a day

I’ve had Golden Dwarfs in the past, and currently have a geometric moray and a baby (4”) white mouth moray. I feed my geometric, who’s roughly full grown, every day to every other day. I’ll usually feed 1-2 whole mussels per feeding. He is a pig and would probably eat 30 times a day. But he’s grown quickly on this schedule and is far and happy. The small white mouth moray gets fed every 1-2 days as well but he gets small lysis from a pipette since he’s so tiny.
