Green aglae that J cant seem to fix.

I have had this type of algae for over a month now. Everynow and then I stir up the sand/remove it and it still comes back (rather fast). My nitrates are at .50 and my phosphates are at .08. I use red sea test kits. How do I get rid of it? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Is it everywhere or mostly the sand? Also how long has the tank been running? How many hrs are your lights on for? And how is the flow on the sand bed? Many things can be contributing to this.

It gets on the rocks too but very little, its mainly on the sand. I use to pretty good powerheads in my 55 gallons aquarium aimed more towards the sand. I run my light about 8 hours a day. Thanks for the reply

No problem. Get some nassarius snails they help keep the sand stirred up. How long has the tank been running? And how often do you do water changes and how many gallons?

I do about a 20% water change weekly and my tank has been rumning for about 6 months

Possible it's green Cyano, not algae but rather bacteria
Does it come back the next day after the lights are turned on? If so it's Cyano
If it takes a day or more to come back it's possibly algae
