Please someone help me. I’ve been dealing with green dust algae for the past few months. It’s like brown diatom but green. The water is cloudy and when I scrap the green algae dust off the glass it comes back within an hour. I’ve tried adding bacteria, phosguard, purigen, algae fix, water changes. Nothing is working.

Do you use filter socks? You need to have some transport mechanism that can capture the material you scrape off. If you already are using socks or floss I would change/wash them more regularly so they capture the smaller particles and also run some carbon or a cheap UV filter to polish the water. But in the end, like @Qasimja said, we all have to deal with this at some level.

Get some ninja star snails.

Thanks everyone for responding.

I have copper in the tank since it’s fish only tank. I do have floss and filter socks. I’ll add carbon soon.
