3 week old nano reef, used sand, water and rock from my 40 gallon breeder.
Rocks set in bucket for weeks with powerhead and heater. Tank pretty much cycled instantly.
Ammonia reading 0 and Nitrates are reading 0 also!
Green algae is encrusting the live rock, in spots its a brownish red. Some pink and purple is visible on parts of rock, while parts that had purple before are encrusted in green now.
Good or bad?

Fine. Probably good. Ime all new set ups go through a little ugly phase.
Stuff gets stirred up etc.

That’s a lot of rock for the tank, imo.

If you are going to grow coral it will be great for softies and zoas with lots of surface area for them to cover.

The algae is taking advantage of nutrients as they leach from the established rock.

I have a 40 gallon breeder that I intend to put it all in once get the plumbing done! I'm only adding corals until i can do the switch. I was actually thinking about that today. Biologically its great but I can't even clean the glass
