Hey everyone,

Was wondering if I could get some opinions on what this green algae is on my rocks. The tank has been running for a year. This algae started to appear a few months after start and now has covered all my prestained purple rocks. :(. The algae is hard and can’t be removed without a razor. Grows in a contiguous manner and is mostly where the light is the strongest. My research suggests it’s either green coralline algae or some sort of limestone boring algae, but wanted to see what people think, if they had experience with it, and how I can promote more purple coralline growth to cover it up.

Parameters: 35ppt, undetectable N and P, 420 Ca, 1350 mg, 7.8-8 PH, 8 dKH, 78F.

I’ve tried coralline supplements but not much progress.

Thanks so much for the help!

Evening. That could be the start of coralline algae and begin to change purple.
