Hello everyone,

New to the forum and I'm looking for some help. I was wondering the best way to remove algae from the sand bed/keep it clean. I have two tanks a Red Sea 130D and a 180 gallon. My 180 gallon is FOWLR and my Red Sea is a reef tank. In my reef tank I have a great clean up crew and no problems with algae. However in my 180 gallon I have lots of algae on the sand bed specifically in one corner. The stock in my 180 is:

Regal Angel
Purple Tang
Stars & Stripes Puffer
Pair of Blue throat triggers
Zebra Moray

For obvious reasons I can't add the usual snails and shrimps to clean up the algae. Does anyone have any recommendations. I know I can just siphon it up but was wondering if there was a goby or something that could help. I was thinking about a bullet goby or starry blenny.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

The picture is one corner I'm having a lot of problems with however its a lot worse now.

It's only in one part of the tank it might be a flow issue. Causing excess nutrients to settle in that part of the tank. 20% water change for 3 weeks straight and more flow to that area should help.

youtube, hydrogen peroxide in your fish tank, i have not used this just heard about it. small amounts 1ml per 10 gallons. Nice regal.

Thanks for the responses. I ended up siphoning all of the algae up and got a goatfish and watchmen goby and it hasn't come back.
