Good afternoon,

I’ve had my tank up and running for over a year now but a couple of weeks ago some type of green algae started growing on the sand. Any thoughts??

Any help would be greatly appreciated. It seems like it’s spreading all over the sand.

Maybe cyano? I've heard of people getting green cyano instead of red.

Does it blow away easily?

Possible causes....
Too much light or too long a lighting cycle
Improper clean up crew for this
Nutrient imbalance
No sandsifters
Too little flow in these areas

Find out what’s causing it 1st

No it doesn’t.
Did you ever find out what this was or how to battle it? I think I'm having the same thing. And my nitrates around 10ppm and phosphates at .05ppm

I never found out what it was. I just got a sand sifting fish and after a few days it was gone
