Ever since i startedy sump for 3 mths now.... i noticed more algae growth on the sandbed and on the glass.. its not hairy green algae just regular green algae.... is this normal?
My parameters:
Ph 8.0
Nitrate .05
Phospate .02
T5 lights 8hrs a day with new ati bulbs
Feeding fish 2x week
Feeding corals once per week
Protein skimmer on 3-6/ day
Aqueon Sump/refugium with miracle mud

No its not normal. What if anything are you running in the fuge? Any type of macor algae?
Could be GDA, or Green Dusst Algae? You do have to scrape it off the glass?

Do you mean scrape off the green algae in the fuge? theres a lot on the walls of the fuge...

If it grows in rings, its more than likely coralline, if its just growing all over the place, then its GDA or Green Dust Algae.

Thanks guys.... found a great solution... need more cuc..
Bought a slug and snails and one more sea urchin.... there u go no need to touch the sand... only wipe the glass twice a week

See there is the misconception of needing a bigger clean up crew, ive only got 6 turbo snails in my 240g tank. My tank is spotless. Itsnthe water params that make all the difference.

What else do I need to do for water params? its still growing dust algae.. suggestion for water changes on a 65g per week?

GDA you have to leave alone for a few weeks, to let it cycle die out. Most of the CUC won't touch it anyways.

I've had it before, and just let it run its course. Although I never lowered my water level to clean it off the glass. I did scrape it all off, an then did a 50% water change, trying to get as much out as possible.
