So ive got this green stuff all over my rock. Its not on the sand or the glass just the parts of the rock my light shines on and someone told me that it was coralline forming but....Idk I'm kinda leary listening to that "source". Any input from some more experienced reefers? Is it bad? If not I kinda think it gives my new bland tank a splash of color. I'm just curious.

The green on your rocks is completely normal for a tank as new as yours. It will go away with time. Not much you can do about it. Get yourself a good cleanup crew in the meantime.

How long has this tank been set up? Are you using ro water?

I have turbos. Astreas. and some hermits. Any other suggestions?

I totally understand. You need to buy a tds meter and test the makeup water for tds. You can buy them on ebay cheap. My suggestion Is since the tank Is new It should go away. Just be careful and don't overfeed your tank and test your nitrates and phosphates.

OK I feed every other day and my tests read nitrates at 10 and phosphates at 0 but I'm guessing the phosphates are already being used by the algea???

That sounds good to me for now. Maybe a emerald crab and a algae blenny. Not only one of the coolest fish in my tank but also eats algae!
That is not HA, I'm assuming that you started with mostly dry rock? As a new tank matures and goes through the first couple of months, your white rock will turn this bright green color (just like your pic you posted). Like I said before, totally natural for this to happen and will go away in time. Looks like your off to a good start! Keep up the good work!
