Good Day:

I started my cycle for my Nuvo Fusion 10 Gallon tank 1.5 months ago. Several weeks ago there was a thin film of green algae (under white lights) that started. It looks brown under the blue lights. I have seeded Coraline algae and there many spots of it growing on the green algae. I have been running the AI Prim HD light at 15, Corallab AB+.

The snails and hermit crabs seem to eat at the algae.

Can anyone confirm the type of algae and the best step forward.

Thanks for your help,

Michael

This is all pretty normal. Just make sure you aren't adding any unnecessary nutrients to the aquarium. Its normal to go through the below cycle:

1. Brown diatoms
2. Green hair algae
3. Coraline Algae.

Its doesnt always occur in that order, but you get the picture.
