I recently got an led for my ten gal and there has been a ton of green algae on the glass so I moved it farther away from the tank and its still doing it. How do I stop it from growing?

How long has the tank been up?

Sent from my ball and chain.
120g reef
40g (down at the moment)
8g nano sexy shrimp tank

Overfeeding slow down. Make sure you are running a skimmer and keep that water circulating.

Not that long but it has sand and live rock and one of the filters from my main tank that's been up a while

If its a new tank, your going to get the algae bloom, and diatoms. Not to worry. The things brought over from the over tank will allow it to cycle quickly but you can't get away with not having the algae blooms. Some have, but most don't. The lighting you have is perfect, your tank just needs to get used to it now.

Is is at a good distance up? Or should it be closer?

I'd lower it so the light just lights up the tank and not the surrounding area. But from that shot, it looks real close.

Yeah I think it is pretty close.
