Hey guys quick algae question. Fairly new tank, maybe 4 months old. Been battling some diatoms lately so I've been scrubbing the rocks and doing weekly water changes. Yesterday as I was doing a water change and scrubbing off some diatoms, I noticed a little green algae on one of my rocks. I scrubbed it off and noticed this morning that the green has spread to other rocks around the tank. It isn't GHA. Wondering if this is some type of cyano? I only have a few frags in the tank. A frogspawn, a hammer and a couple torches. Thinking about doing a three day blackout. Any suggestions?

I just think it's your algae bloom coming after your dinos. Next will be Caroline!! I hope the green hair doesn't kill any of your Corals! I think it's best bet to get Corals after rock is Coralined up.

Can you post a picture? Also this is just me but I don't reccomend blackouts because all you do is kill the algae and then it can come right back using nutrients released into the water. Try and find the source of the algae. Unless it is taking over the tank I also suggest you don't worry. A healthy tank should always have some algae, but not a ton.
