Hello everyone thank you for reading this post. My fiancé and I have had our tank set up for almost a year now and it has been doing great up until this point we woke up yesterday morning and seen that we had a couple of little spots of green algae and we tried to clean it the best we could then we woke up this morning and it looks like the tank just exploded with this stuff I have read that it can be from nitrate and phosphate levels increasing so I was just curious to help the tank out is it safe to use atm colony

Its probably fine to use. Follow the dosing instructions and see if you have an increse in any cyanos etc. some bacteria like MB7 have an organic carbon component that may make cyano flare up for a time.

If you’d like , post a picture and let’s se what you are dealing with.

For some folks , winter , and closing up the house increases co2 and lowers ph. Algaes like this. Algae feeds on a lot more than nutrients.

I’m actually out running errands right now down at the bottom of this pic you can kind of see where it was starting at and thank you for the advice
