kinda new to the hobby i have a frag of gsp that is getting over grown with green algea havent seen it open up since it became covered is there anything i can do???

If gsp isn’t opening , something is not right.
Either sick frag , bad water , poor light etc.

thanks for getting back to me i have done a 20 percent water change everyweek to combat the algea slowed feeding down to every other day i have 2 anemones that seem to be doing just fine which i feed every 3-4 days fish seem healthy but this the second gsp i had with problems.. which is kind or frustrating since they a prob one of the easiest to keep.. i use a 4 ballast t5 with 4 blue plus ive literally wiped out the algea problem but cant get it off the gsp itself

When my current 55 gal tank was new , I did kill a gsp frag. A bunch of others I already had , no problem.
Better then a year later , the gsp frag came back from the dead.

Double check all your normal stuff , tds , high alk and all that.
After that , I put it down to ,” tank doesn’t like it.”

thanks i also am running a 55 gal working on setting up a 200 within a month or so ill check my parameters in the morning. im thinking the tank dont like it then because my parameters are almost always spot on and when they were good still wouldnt show any sign of wanting to open. i have a rock with prob 30 zoas on it and they are opened almost all the time
