Hi, currently cycling my first tank for 2 weeks now. Few days ago I started getting a green algae on my live rock and sand, then after a few days I have noticed a red spots on my live and dry rock(possibly algea?).
Also just checked the water parameters and my Phosphate is 2.0 ppm.
Should I do anything with the algea and try to reduce the phosphate? 20190403_003908.jpg

Wow that is really a high po4 reading. Are you sure you’re reading the test correctly? Even .2ppm is high. Can you tell us more about your setup? Any thoughts on where the phosphate is coming from? The red stuff could be cyano. Cyano and that green algae look like normal cycling stuff to me.

I am sure it is 2 ppm, I was shocked too. I have a red sea live sand, live rock from mature aquarium(it was transported in water), dry rock from a LFS.
I have a 25litres of RO/DI water mixed with salt to top up. It was mixed 3 days ago and the PO4 of this water is only 0.1 ppm. So I guess it is coming from something in the aquarium.
