Green birdsnest not green anymore

My green birdsnest is not green anymore. It's mostly brown with white tips and white polyps. It's placed at the bottom of the tank. Plenty of flow.

What could be the problem? The pic below is misleading because the tips are all white with the bone being brown.

You should post your parameters. But off hand I'd say it needs more light.

Well, all my parameters are very consistent.. Alk is like 8 or 9, calcium is about 420, nitrates and phophates have never been detectable. I've tried to increase nitrates before but it doesnt work.

IME Seriatopora guttatus needs high light and med-high flow.

I would try placing it higher in the tank.

Needs measurable PO4 and a little nitrate, or regular small feedings. They tend to pale out when nutrients are too low.

This particular bird may be the type that gets intense green growth tips, blue polyps on older stems, and a nice orangish skin when things are just right, hard to tell.

Mine bleached just like that under my LEDs. I think they were getting too much/too harsh of light. After getting my T5s up and getting rid of the LEDs they have turned green again. Maybe try turning down your lights if you don't have much for nutrients.

Same thing happened to me

My birdsnest sits on the highest rock underneath 350 - 400 PAR. ALK 8.0, cal 420, mag 1350, nitrate 0.5, PO4 0.02 with high water flow from 2 directions.

Feed it flow & light.
Feed it.
Flow.
Light.
