Hey everyone so I searched around and see a lot of posts about their nem hiding but most of those posts seemed to be a new nem being introduced or a new tank.

My tank is 3 years old, and I have had the nem over a year now at this point it has been out and open I would say 90% of that time attached to the same spot pretty much since I got it. My 2 clowns are hosting in it daily and it doesnt seem to bother it even at night it usually stayed pretty open while the clowns laid in it.

Now this morning when I woke up I noticed it was pretty much as deep as it could get itself in my rockwork where there is no way its going to get light.

Other threads all asked for tank info so here is some:
- Running 2 Kessil 360x for about 10ish hours I believe I would have to double check
- I upgraded to the Kessils around black friday and its been fine since the switch
- The only thing I did was a 5 gallon water change last week

Parameters:
- Salinity: 1.026
- Calcium: 470 (Red Sea Test Kit)
- Alk: 7.7 (Hanna)
- Temp: 78-79
- Mag: 1400 (Red Sea Test Kit)

Here it is at night usually about half open and seeming pretty happy. I don't have a recent picture of it during the day

Any advice would be appreciated thanks!

I would give it some time! It will look for its optimal conditions. As long as it doesn’t look like a dying anemone, you are good.

Might be back in its usual spot by tomorrow!

Keep us updated

Lighting was my thought. Had a power surge (at least that's what I think happened) and my tank light defaulted back to factory preset once.

well small update, its poking out through I swear the smallest hole in the rock work near my monti-cap and rics. Glad it is at least poking out since the lights have come on but I have absolutely not Idea how its even fitting through the hole like it is.

My Royal Gramma is angry it took its home over

I have had splits hide for as long as a week and then climb to the highest place it could find, no problems, just odd

that actually would explain how it fits through that hole if it did split

I just picked one up a few weeks ago. The thing comes out during the day on the bottom of the rock work soaking up the light. Lights out he moves into the really tiny hole under my rock work (brittle star dug a hole and they share it at night.....).
