I bought a green bubble anemone a few months ago, when I bought it it was very bright green, vibrant in color, the tentacles were inflated and bubbled nicely. It's foot was the size of a half dollar roughly. I drip acclimated it. It seemed to float around the tank for a few days and finally found a spot and attached itself to a rock. I got a black percula that hosted with it and hardly ventures more than 2 in away from it. Last month I noticed it looked real shriveled up for a few days and then moved behind the rocks all the way in the back of the tank. I asked someone at one of the reef stores in town if I should move the rocks and get him out, they said to leave it be and it would come out when it was ready. It did come out after a few days. It went back to previous spot, but it kept moving back and forth in a 5-6 inch area. The anemone lost it's beautiful green color before it went behind rocks and has been a dull brown ever since. Right before and since it's been deflated and shriveled looking. Minus a few days within the last month that it looked huge and very odd shaped, almost like a 3 leaf clover and it even looked like a four leaf clover at one point. But still was the dull brown.
The nem is definitely much larger than I thought it was but I am hoping to find out why it lost it's beautiful green color and is nearly brown and shriveled looking now.
We thought that it was attempting to split when it was shaped clover like, but it never did.
We feed it krill once a week and put the microvert stuff in it a few times a week as well.
The tank is a 29 gal biocube hqi, with a black perc hosting it, a Picasso that wants to host it but the black one is very territorial and won't let it. A yellow watchman, emerald crabs, hermets, nasarius snails, other snails, various small polyp colonies, a torch coral, frogspawn, duncan, 2 aicans, some grass looking coral, a maze coral, toad stool, and 2 rechordias.
I have a protein skimmer and a uv sterilizer. Filtration is biocube filters with live rock under it.
If anyone has any idea what could be wrong, or how I can get the nem to look bubbly and vibrant again PLEASE let me know.
