I bought a green bubble tip anenome a about a month maybe 2 ago. It seemed to avoid any light. It dissapeared for about a week and has been hanging out under the rock work. I just found it again completley under the rock work but where there is a constant supply of gentle water flow. It was once big and puffy and now it is elongated and not much extension .My cinamon clown really likes to try and sleep in it all the time though. Any thoughts.

Tank is about 2.5 years old, my RBTA is doing fine no problem. I can't get a good picture of it right now.

Did it have good color when you got it?

Was it under weaker lights before you got it maybe?(Often they need to be acclimated to new stronger light than LFS had them under)

It was sitting right under some t5 at the LFS right at the top of the tank. I think the color was ok, I don't really remmeber. I thought it was starting to split when I got it because it had a white longitudinal line going from the tips to the foot.

Many LFS run their bulbs longer than we probably would, and if it was high up it may have been in weaker lighting, maybe, and that would make sense to run from strong light suddenly thrown at it.
Also if they are bleached they don't handle light well, so those are usually my first thoughts.

It could have been mid split, often they do when stressed or new params, and that can make them weird for a bit.

Hard to say for sure, we are shooting in dark w/out seeing it.

I didn’t noticed this until someone mentioned bleaching. I think it is bleeched out. Sorry he’s in a weird spot this is the best brow I could get

Will it die or does it just need time to heal I can’t spot feed it cause of the location

It possibly can die. When they hide and when they turn stringy, it is not a good thing. I would definitely try my best to get it a small piece of shrimp.

Better view, just got a new phone, my crapped out on me. It is actually a shade of white. But the camera makes it look like a cool blue. I fed it a piece of shrimp and it moved the next day just out from under the rock. I think this is a good sign.

Any update? It is definitely bleached. Just keep it in stable parameters and it should pull through

I’m did a water change didn’t seem to do anything to him. He has know bee to an area I can easily feed him. He seems to be taking in food but he still shrivels up then opens a little bit. I had a good picture but my phone deleted itself and I lost all my photos for December.

If I can get a picture of it again it will but basically looked like a dick literally.

Here’s a comparison of my RBT

For what ever the reason, I cannot keep green BTAs alive in my anemone schemed tank that is full of rainbows and a Magnifica.
I've tried 5 different times and they are open and full for a few days then hide and wither away.

Are you getting splits/aquacultured or wild caught ? And some people say greens are harder to keep

My Rainbows and Shermans are all aquacultured, my Magnifica came from DD so I imagine that is wild.
All the greens I've tried, 4 were aquacultured and one was wild. FWIW, they would last for anywhere from 3 weeks to 6 weeks before I have to siphon them out.

Is this one of his made poses or trying to split?
