Just got this little frag yesterday from a LFS. I initially placed him in the middle of the tank, but he started to fold in on himself. LFS said it was likely due to too much light.

So I moved him down a bit for less light. Now he is standing up like a satellite dish. I’m guessing this means there isn’t enough flow in that area for him. Thoughts? Move him? Leave him be?

These are my first coral since we fixed the salinity issue, so I could very likely be overthinking. Thanks!

I asked the LFS and he said to let it be for now. It looks like a baseball glove this morning, like it's trying to catch the current... :thinking-face:

My Leather Coral Change appearances often. I have two Heads, on Separate Plugs, that are from the same parent. One can be open, Polyps fully extended, and the other Polyps fully retracted, and head wrinkled, like when you close the palm of your hand. BTW, nice looking Leather, mine are a Tannish-Pink.

I would set it low and leave it be for a while. It could be flow that's causing it to raise up. Mine is on the bottom and partially shaded by a monti and doing well. Sometimes it will fold in half or roll up and other times it's fully open. This one has been been in this spot for over a year and has even started attaching to the glass on the bare bottom.

Here are some shots from this morning. I’m going to adjust the flow just a touch and see if that helps. It’s only been in the tank for like 40 hours, so I’m I don’t want to overthink it

Thanks! Yeah I really like the look of it. He’s super bright. Hopefully he calms down.

Thanks, yeah that’s the plan. I need to let it chill for a bit. Your tank is a beauty!
