so I got a purple gramma and a green carpet anemone last weekend. Well I haven’t seen the gramma in 2 days , I checked all rocks and caves today , and it’s gone , it’s not in my sump or overflow box , it’s just.... gone... could my carpet have ate it?

Unless it was weak or dying I would think no. But it’s not out of the realm of possibility....

It wasn’t weak or dying to my knowledge, it ate a few days ago, hid a lot, hid underneath the rockwhere the anemone is. Then it just vanished

If it is a S. haddoni they are known fish eaters so it is possible.
I’m not sure if it is, just that it is a green carpet . Here is a photo of it eating a feeder fish

Green carpet anemones are incredibly adept at catching any fish that have the misfortune of swimming into it. If a fish gets startled and darts towards it they are quickly eaten.

That’s a shame because I want more fish in there besides clowns and I don’t want to get rid of the carpet because the anemone is cool as hell.

It’s definitely possible that the anemone could eat it. More likely though is that it is either hiding in the rocks or dead under the rock somewhere.

Back in the 90s I had a friend that had a haddoni kill and start to eat a 16” leopard shark.
