I have 2 green chromis and a blue green chromis that have been in a 30 gallon for about a year, on Tuesday (posting on Saturday) I moved them into a 90 gallon with no immediate issues. Yesterday right after I fed them their normal mysis the blue green chromis started to act like he was dying, breathing heavily and just blowing around the tank. He slowly went back to normal within 5 minutes with no more issues for the night, but he just did the same thing again after I fed them today. There are no spots or signs of injury, there are also a pair of clowns, a 4in blue tang (the only fish new to everybody), a fire fish, a tail spot blenny and an engineer goby, none of which have any problems and I have not seen any nipping or aggression between anybody. The temp is a pretty steady 78. My only guess was the blue tang freaked him out while eating. Is he just playing dead, or should I separate him?

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

I'm not sure what is going on here. I don't suppose you would be able to capture it on video?

Did the color of the blue green turn dark?
Any rapid breathing at the same time?

I had a similar issue with a group of blue stripe snappers. When they were stressed in any way, some would go into "shock" and some would even die. When we did a necropsy on the dead ones, we discovered they had fatty liver disease and when stressed, they would just go into shock. I've never seen that in chromis, but thought I would toss that out there....

He didn’t turn dark but it looked exactly like he went into shock, rapid breathing, mouth open, flapping his fins but not really going anywhere. I’ll definitely record the next feeding to see if he does it again. He’s currently acting totally normal again, swimming with his buddies like nothing happened. The chromis in question is the smallest one.

Yes, they look ok in this video. If you can change the lights to white, that helps us see more detail.

Unfortunately he ended up dying, he was fine until yesterday morning but disappeared by the time I got home from work. Thank you very much for your time and help!
