If it is a green chromis, look for a red spot on the side of his body developing. This is what I would be most worried about.

Laying on the bottom and breathing heavy are unfortunately not good signs. Are other fish behaving normally?

Yes all of my other fish are fine. Also he has no red spot. What should I do if he gets a red spot. What should I do now.

If you have a QT tank, go ahead and move him over. If not, you are just going to continue to watch closely. Check all your parameters and maybe try to increase oxygen exchange to the tank with more surface agitation from your powerheads.

@HotRocks @Frtdrmrose7 @ngoodermuth are all much better with fish treatment than myself. Do you happen to have any meds on hand, or a fish store close by?

Also, there are some treatments that can be done in display tank, depending on what other creatures you have in there. Can you list off what all you have in the tank? This will help others give recommendations on treatment options if you cannot QT.
