Morning guys! (Or afternoon/evening wherever you are at!)

I dont often post in here, I'm more a reader but I have a situation that I may need advice on!

A few mornings ago I came down to find that one of my 4 chromis had lost its tail! Some kind of incident with either the wave maker or the lobster I'm guessing! (When I say lost, it's not just the tail find.. it is half a chromis, literally no tail what so ever!! Down to the bone and reddish flesh)

Now, he is eating and swimming around with the shoal as if he hasn't even realised! He currently looks more like a sun fish. Its now been around 3 days and the area around his butt is looking much calmer.. he still seems happy relaxing with the others and loves a good munch.

So much question is, should I quarantine him? I have an emergency quarantine tank but I dont want him to suffer any stress being taken from his buddies.

I've attached a pic from google and put a line were he is missing his tail. To be honest, I'd prepared myself for the worst 3 days ago, but hes a fighter and I have hope!

Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Thanks guys.

If you could post a picture of the fish itself, that would help. Generally, when the bone that produces the fin structure is damaged (the hypural plate) the fin will not grow back. In many of those cases, the infection is so deep seated that the fish succumbs.

How long have you had these fish? Uronema frequently causes tail damage like that, but it is much more frequently seen on newly acquired green chromis.
