It’s always worked for me.

I went ahead and dosed Chemiclean because is starting to tick some coral off. Less than 24hr it cleared up a lot. I know this is not a permanent solution but o boy do I miss looking at a clean tank.

Hey gang need a little help here!

I’ve got patches of this really green algae popping up and I’m trying to figure out what it is! It’s not hair algae. It blows right off with a turkey baster and dissolved into little pieces that get blown around in the water.

Thoughts?

If a green cyno, could be Synechoccoccus sp. Caribbean strain? With out microscope hard to pinpoint. Bummer :(

If Synechoccoccus, wish I had in my tank.

Rev, what are your nutrient levels, i'm dealing with the same thing, cant seem to beat it! ;Punch;Punch I tried switching foods as the food I was feeding was vitamin C rich which can be a carbon source for the bacteria. But that was almost a month ago and it died down a little bit, but still struggling.
Any LR from the Caribbean? I wonder . Hmmm

I second the UV idea. If it blows off easily it will go through the UV and be killed...
If you already use a UV, maybe your bulb is burned out or old and needs replacing.

All of my rock is from Fiji.

Couldn’t get a great scope image but does this help?

Nothing really moving around at all either. Totally different from my dino outbreak of 2018! Lol!

I'll have to look at mine under a microscope. Mine is slowly going away since I'm getting nutrients under control. Why would you want it in your tank exactly?

I made another water change and will again tomorrow. Just going to try and beat this the old fashion way. I also have barely fed my fish in the last 2 days.

Does yours disappear at night? Mine mostly goes away at night as well as my red cyano. Lights on, it it grows back. Water changes dont effect mine.

That stuff was the worst almost took over my whole tank. I had an out break after I rid my tank of Dino’s. Like you said blew off easily then grew back with in a week. I was afraid of Dinos coming back so I left my no3 and po4 high. After about 5 months of just manual removal it seem to just spread more. I tried dropping levels and it did nothing.

So I eventually just scrubbed as much as I could off the rocks. Removed most of my sand and WC during the process. Then I dosed chemiclean. My no3 was at 1 po4 was at 2.5. It worked for me. 2 months now no reoccurrence. Hopes this helps good luck!

I GOT THE SAME THING
started after me using vibrant i had red cyano and the red one gone now i have this growing on my rocks and on my zoas
same here blows easy but comes the next day like i havent done nothing
