I use a baby food jar tipped up at a 45 degree angle on my rockwork. Catches just about anything in the tank.

What did you read? I have them and have no issues with them bothering coral.

I may have said the wrong thing..I read it that he will be a danger to Polyps if ever gets hungry .I have not added any Polyps yet,But just dont wanna get them killed by a crab.:)

I would suggest you get the corals first and see how he behaves. Mine is really sweet and very discreet. I very seldom see him, he munches on whatever algae there is on the rocks and has never touched one single coral, just sometimes plucks the algae off the base or frag plugs.

Mine was a gangsta crab who took out all my snails. He went to live in another tank.

Hi @Geonet. Welcome!
I have read similar threads. But my experience has shown that my emerald crabs don't eat my corals. There may be some out there that could/would. But not so far in my tank. I have a 40g AIO with about 45lb of rock. The crabs are definitely fun to watch and find. The wife loves 'em.

The only time I've seen them on my zoa's or other corals is just after I feed reefroids. They will occasionally do their job and eat the algae, but mostly they are lazy like everything else I've put into the tank. Just sittin' around waiting for feeding time...haha

I have only had to catch a crab once but the tilted glassware (opening tilted against the rock) with a piece of meat in caught it in 10 minutes it was only a smaller one so used chemical shot glass 2 from this set

Glass is good as it stay put

I read that the female emeralds are much better behaved than the males
