Green Film Algae

So, recently some film algae decided to grow on my tank. There is excess nutrients in the water from something that has died. I don't know what died or where it died so I can't remove the source of the nutrients. I am constantly doing water changes every few days to help. The algae keeps growing on my glass. It's really hard to scrape. It's definitely not green coralline though. I have a plastic tank so scraping it with metal would scratch it. What should I do?

The tank has been set up for about a year now. My Nitrate and Phosphate testkit are still being shipped, ordered some yesterday 'cause I ran out but I'm sure it's on the high side. Tank is plastic, not sure what kind but definitely not acrylic. Corals and inverts are doing well. My is Sun Coral extending so there's definitely something in the water. I recently upgraded to a LED fixture so that is probably also a factor.

You don’t mention the methods you are using for nutrient export, but I can say in my reef the only method that effected film algae on the glass is carbon dosing.
