Just noticed a green film on my foxfaxe tonight. I’ve had this guy for ~2yrs, no new additions to the tank, he’s definitely the dominant fish, eats like a pig etc, only fish affected.

Looks like a thin film peeling. The rest of him looks normal, you will see some nori chunks floating in my water but those are not spots.

This definitely wasn’t on this afternoon...

Anyone seen this before? Thanks!

Is it possible he brushed up against some algae? That's what it looks like to me.

Thanks, it's crossed my mind and does look like that but just wanted to make sure it's not something more serious.

No problem. There isn't anything really disease related that resembles this.

My guess is he rubbed that back glass and got a present from what I can see.

Rabbitfish will shed their mucus layer; it's probably just that.
This was my thought. If it clears up in a few days, no worries!

If it doesn’t, I’d suspect an infection presenting in an odd way.

Happy to report all cleared up this morning! Thanks everyone!
