Read and read this forum but can't figure out why the greem film on the glass comes back within hours of cleaning it off. I have Red Sea Reefer 350 with a Vertex Omega 130 skimmer and an Eheim Compact 5000 pump. I also run a Gyre 130. I also have 2 Kessil 360 we lights. Do I need more circulation? Temp 78.7,
P.H. 8.3, Salinity 1025, no nitrate and no ammonia. I have about 9 fish and only soft corals. I started this tank May 2015. Getting frustrated with the constant cleaning. As I stated in my last post haven't been able to grow Zoas but Palys seem to be doing okay but just okay. Are these things connected?

Your lighting schedule and phosphate readings will help will probably also help to get you some answers.

It's a fact uv sterilizer can prevent that

Which doesn't imply lighting adjustments or ATS filters or any other method won't work

But for this specific issue, few will compete with the turnaround time uv will provide if you buy one rated for a tank much larger

The issue will simply stop after you clean the tank again, then run uv. If it has to be extended run ranges among causatives

Keep it as backup it's indispensable tool headache remover. Investigate drop-in, hang-on types rated for double gallonage if possible, or at least larger

Never size them correctly only oversize

Reef tools cannot be rated legit/illegit based on preferences among tank keepers, a uv is no different a cheat than a protein skimmer among reef tools. Amazon rent means ship back if results are not this shocking most results are sustained after one or two hand cleanings plus uv
