ive been getting green film on my glass its not the normal algae i usually see in the tank that i have to scrape off this stuff comes on with just a wipe of the hand and i do see a couple patchs of gha on my rock *that isnt spreading* and i was wondering what could cause this i run a micro sock filter and i have a carbon bag in my sump so im at a lose my parameters i feel are all inline with
nitrite at 0
nitrate at 0
ammonia inbetween 0 and 0.25 more on the less side
ph is at 8
phosphate is at 0

if i missed a test let me know and ill try to run it.

What kind of test are you using to check your parameters ?
How old is your tank?

im using the api test kit i know its highly inaccurate n that i need to get a new one
my tank has been running for about 2 years now

Try investing in a better testing kit, try Red Sea or Salifert testing kits.
Sounds a little strange that you have after 2 years everything is testing 0 except ammonia in your tank?
Sounds like you have excess nitrients in your tank ,that is why I am recommending a better kit for testing your water.

yeah im gunna it is alittle strange to me as well im just trying to figure out wherte the nitrients are coming from casue i havent really changed anything in my feed regime i thought maybe my carbon bag was expiring so i replaced it and its still there ima try and up my skimmer just alittle to see if it has any effect on it

Maybe you may be overfeeding your fish ,how big is your tank and how many fish do you have? How many times do you feed daily and what kind of food do you feed them?

55g with 10g sump with 6 fish feed once in the morning pelts maybe about 15 pellets if not less and once at night brine/mysis i switch daily and its only a quarter of a cube.

Try feeding once a day just enough for them to eat with no excess food and just do 10% water changes once a week with RO/DI water, just take your time and be patient and everything will get back to normal, this can be a complicated hobby!
