Hello All!

I am on the search for a green fish. I originally wanted a Richmonds wrasse, but none of my lfs have even heard of it, and I can not find it in stock online. So even if I managed to find it, it will probably be out of my pice range. I love it's color, so hopefully someone on here has a good replacement. It will need to be reef safe, and invert safe. I have shrimp, crabs and snails. Tank is a 90 gallon, with a 2 1/2 or 3 inch sand bed.

My fish are:
1. Watchman goby
2. Swallow tail angel
3. One spot foxface
4. Mccroskers wrasse
5. Chalk bass
6. Kole tang ( not added yet, will be last)
7. Undecided green fish

Coral:
1. Xenia
2. Zooanthids
3. Duncan
4. Mushroom
5. Hammer
6. Kenya tree
7. Green starry polyps

Please help!!

Both the vroliks and melanarus wrasse are in the same genus (halichoeres) and relatively inexpensive. Both are predominantly green.

A lime green wrasse is a bright green halichoeres wrasse as well, but less pattern.

I will research the 1st two, but I've read quite a few horror stories on the lime green. Do you know it the 1st ones will try to fight with my mccroskers?

My lime green were good citizens but yes they’re more aggressive generally than the other two. It’s hard to know for sure if they’ll mess with a flasher wrasse, but generally not. Particularly since you’re adding the halichoeres after the flasher I imagine the odds are pretty good in your favor.

The odds don't seem to be in my favor lol I had to rehome the supposedly peaceful tribal blenny because he went nuts and was attacking everyone, especially my foxface.

Good luck finding a Vrolik’s. I have been looking for one for 10 months and haven’t seen one anywhere online or at any LFS.

Halichoeres chloropterus can fade to a boring white and become real butt heads on maturity. They are normally ok with larger fish but its not a halichoeres i'd recommend personally.

If you want a green wrasse i'd look at an equisite, it shouldn't cause any problems with your current stocking.

I noticed the Exquisite today, shortly after posting this and can't understand why I didn't consider it before lol it is very pretty. Is there a way to ensure it comes from Fiji? The other locations take away a lot of the green.

I had an exquisite before it jumped while I was doing maintenance. Beautiful fish, but surprisingly aggressive. Much more so than my other fairies or halichoeres wrasses.
