I used to think they were awesome and beautiful. Now however they are annoying. I started off with one and then a friend needed me to watch their mother colony. Well the babies got bigger and popped off leaving me with 11+ and new ones sprouting. Got some sold but still left with a ton. Fast forward a few months an the babies are getting huge taking up all the space on my sandbed. Well one of the babies decided to get cute and turn into a mother colony. It had 3 lovely babies growing quite well. Then one of the babies thought it would out do the mother and became a mini colony on top of the other and it now has 3+ babies sprouting on it. Arg!!!!! Ok rant over.

Anyone else ever have this happen?

Here is the main mother colony

The small plate in the middle is the fist colony before the other plate decided to go colony to. Have to get a better pic of the double colony when I get home.

Pretty cool as said many lcs will buy them from you. Granted not for as much then selling them yourself. Sounds like it could be a factory, like my rainbow anemone keeps dividing.

Does the mother colony remain alive? I wonder if certain varieties of fungia are prone to be this prolific or if there is something in your water that triggers it to happen.

I'll buy it from you. :) I love this type stuff!

i have the same thing. :) our little Stick we bought from the LFS has about 2 smallllll babies on it. Now the stick doesn't stop Sprouting them ! its awesome. we raised about 3 full grown ones so far. Gave them to LFS for safe keeping.

The mother colony does keep producing new babies when the older babies fall off. As soon as a mature polyp fall off a new one is starting to grown in it's place.

Rev I wish I knew how to ship. I would ship them in a heart beat, but unfortunatly I don't know how and can only sell them to people that can pick up local :(

That is the kenya tree of plate corals. Its survival wiring is out of whack. To bad that it was not one of those designer colored plates.

Tab yeah this colony is crazy. Rabbit reproduce crazy. If I had space for them I wouldn't mind but they are getting so big and starting to sting my lobo :(

That is waaaaaayyyyy to many mushrooms lol. At least the plates don't attach themselves. Thankful for that lol
