Green glass algae/.phyto plankton

Just curious; As I clean my aquarium glass and the fine green particles go swirling off into the water column, (no lectures here please) Does this count as feeding my invertebrates phytoplankton?
 
While not “Exactly” the same thing, (isn’t some phyto motile?) ...anyway, I’d bet those particles don’t go un-consumed somewhere

That’s exactly what I was thinking. The species of algae that grow on the tank walls are not the same ones that are added to the tank for phytoplankton, and therefore they don’t have the same nutritional composition. However, the algae from your walls is probably still consumed, and both are types of microalgae if I’m not mistaken. I wouldn’t consider it a substitute to dosing phyto though.
