Green Hair Algae help!

Ok so first off i am pretty knew to salt tanks but I had major issues with hair algae and there were three things i did to get rid of it and haven't had problems since first off I stopped getting my "purified" water from walmart because they flavor their ro water with phosphate and next i switched salt i was using instant ocean reef crystals, which i have been told is very inconsistent with its phosphate levels and am now using some man made salt i can't recall the name of but could find out the name if you are interested i got it from my lfs and finally the last thing i did which really seemed to do the trick was got a lawn mower blenny and that thing cleaned my tank in a couple of days. hope this helps good luck.!
