Green Hair Algae Please ID and advise

Hi all

I have a good amount of what I think, green (or brown?) hair algae in my tank. Could someone please confirm ID based on the pictures I uploaded?

What could be the reason of these developing rapidly in my tank? I use 0 TDS RODI with Red Sea Coral pro salt. Dosing RS foundation Ca and kH. Nitrates are usually 1, but never higher than 2 (Red Sea kit). Phosphates are not detectable (Salitert kit).

Is it rooting onto the rock? Looks like bryopsis.. if so it's a pain to get rid of. I used Vibrant to eventually eliminate mine.

I can’t see the roots but it takes a fair amount of scrubbing with toothbrush to detach from the rocks.

Ok, sounds like bryopsis. May be too late...but don't scrub in tank. It just makes it spread faster. If reducing nutrients etc doesn't work I would recommend Vibrant. It is a beneficial bacteria Blend..not a chemical. It will deplete any macro algea you have.

Ah dang.I gave it a good scrub weeks ago.

Geez, this is a neverending story. Just got rid of a huge cyano outbreak. I’ve been trying anything to avoid chemicals but after 2 months of no improvements, I dosed blue life red cyano rx, so the cyano went away. This other thing is around in small patches, but I was preoccupied with the cyano.

I have some LPS in my tank, I could dose some (red sea) nopox but nitrate being 1-2 already, not sure if that’s a good idea. What do you think?

How old is the tank? I am not familiar with Nop. I have used Vibrant for this with success. It's not a chemical just a bacteria Blend. First step may be too get parameters in check and then reevaluate.

I agree with don’t scrub with toothbrush in tank but I saw a post that someone put up that he used a toothbrush attached with tape to a section of tubing and with a water change scrubbed the rock and most was sucked up I have used this way and it does help a lot I had an outbreak and this and water changes seemd to have eliminated it

Tank is young, about 4 months old. Params are pretty consistent, including kH, Ca. I dose with auto doser nicely spread through the day, making sure I keep the kH-Ca balance and test every couple of days.

The other thing I cam think of is maybe the nitrates are not soo low cause this briopsis thing is consiming it so it gives me a false reading. Would that be possible?
