Thanks! For me in a 45g I just scrubbed away with a toothbrush every weekend, my cuc wierdly but great help only ate right side of my aquascape/rocks so left side was more hairy.
Cuc can only do so so much in grazing algae but once it reaches a point of length I believe they do not touch it, remove it if you can buy scrubbing with toothbrush or recently I found this (picture)
You will continue to get plagued until you research and learn how to manage your Phosphates150 G tank was started on 6 Aug (ammonia and Turbo Start), fish added once ammonia was zero for over a week (17 Aug). Added 2 clowns, purple dottyback, sixline wrasse and diamondback goby. Ammonia still zero and got brown algae about 3 weeks ago. Added 3 Astrea snails to CuC on Friday. Noticed green hair algae starting in about 7-8 spots. Before it becomes a bloom....is the current stock prepared to handle green algae? Close to cycle end? Add a Tang? I also have pods ready to go in refugium and want to add chaeto. Doing 2nd water change today (30 Gal). Looking for advice on what to do next. Thanks!
I read that before, and also limited lighting with limited power would be acceptable also. Lights are on very low power for about 6 hours with a slow ramp up and ramp down. Thanks. What you should have done was leave your lights off the first 4 months to allow your tank to develop biodiversity and microfauna. Then the ugly stages you will experience the first year will be much more manageable.
